Derived from Sheep- Misleading Label!
Solgar Vitamin D3, 1,000 IU, 100 Softgels review posted by Super Supplement Customer on 3/27/14
This product is derived from sheep's wool. I am EXTREMELY allergic to lamb meat, wool, and lanolin or anything made with these and after tearing at my skin with itching hives for the past couple of weeks, I started to suspect this product, the only new thing I'm taking. I closely examined the label, and everything on the label says it's derived from fish liver oil. I did see that it contains Cholecalciferol, when shopping for it, but on other brands, they specify "Cholecalciferol derived from sheep" when that's the case. Since this said the product was derived from fish, I assumed that could be another way they source Cholecalciferol. No mention of sheep on the label, anyplace. Clearly they want to make a big point of the fish ingredient, but want to use more obscure wording for the sheep derived ingredient as that just doesn't sound so appealing.
